Justice Watch (June 2006-September 2007)

The principal objective of the project is to display the relationship between the citizen and law from both sides of the picture. On the one side, the project aims to display what kind of place law occupies in the life of the citizen, when and why the citizen approaches the law, what s/he expects from law, and on the other hand, it aims to present how comprehensible, accessible and user-friendly courts are in terms of their structure and procedure, as they are the first institution that comes to mind when the subject is law. For this purpose, the project carried out a nation-wide survey on attitudes towards courts, conducted a Courtwatch activity whereby visits to courthouses were made and developed a media archive where chronological overviews of highly publicized legal cases are provided. All the data collected have been displayed via project’s web site at www.adaletgozet.org.
