Asst. Prof. Dr. Mualla Buket Soygüt
After graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2002, she started her academic career as a research assistant in Istanbul Ticaret University Faculty of Law, Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedure in 2004. She completed her master's degree at Galatasaray University in 2006 with her thesis on "Victim-Offender Mediation in Turkish Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law" and her PhD in 2014 with her thesis on "Confiscation in Turkish Criminal Law".
Soygüt, who has been working as a Ass.Prof.Dr/Instructor in Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law, Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedure since 2016, has been a visiting researcher in Canada and Germany at various times. Dr. Buket Soygüt is still a member of the International Criminal Law Association, the Board of the Turkish Criminal Law Association and the Editorial Board of the Journal of Crime and Punishment.
Research interests: restorative justice, criminal law and human rights, impunity, juvenile justice, execution law, gender-based violence.
