The first training for Judges of the Criminal Courts and Prosecutors, of the project "Strengthening Respect for Human Rights of Women in Turkey", conducted by Istanbul Bilgi University Human Rights Law Research Center and supported by Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, was held between 3-6 June 2008 in Antalya.
The seminar lasted for four days and 12 prosecutors and 11 judges attended.
The local experts were selected by Istanbul Bilgi University and the international expert was selected by RWI. The local experts were Assist. Professor Dolunay Ozbek (Faculty of Law, Istanbul Bilgi University), Assoc. Prof. Bertil Emrah Oder (Koc University, Faculty of Law), Assoc. Prof. Ufuk Sezgin (Kocaeli University, Center for Psychological Trauma and Disaster Relief Studies), Assoc. Prof. Kadriye Bakırcı (Istanbul Technical University), Dr. Asuman Aytekin İnceoğlu (Faculty of Law, Istanbul Bilgi University) and Kasım İlimoğlu (Prosecutor, Istanbul / Bakırköy) . The international expert was Miriam Estrada Castillo.
