The workshop was organised on 24 January 2012 by Human Rights Law Research Center and the main discussion topics were on how the department of corrections can cooperate with NGOs and on what basis to establish that cooperation, how the department of corrections  suppose to be changed in line with the needs and the profile. The directors of department of corrections from Istanbul, representatives of Ministry of Justice, representatives from CISST (Civil Society in The Penal System), Asst. Prof. Galma Akdeniz and Asst. Prof. İdil Elveriş from the Center attended.
