European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) conducted a seminar on the Racial Equality Directive on 25-26 June 2007 in Istanbul.
Over 110 participants took part in the two-day event including representatives of national public bodies, civil society organisations and EU experts.
The first day of the seminar consisted of plenary sessions with presentations from EU experts and a showcase of works and publications by governmental and non-governmental bodies. The second day saw four parallel thematic workshops with a more in-depth look at the provisions of the Directive and their impact at the national level.
A final panel drew up conclusions and made recommendations on the basis of discussions in the workshop
