The book was produced within the framework of the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) Literacy Project for Lawyers, which was carried out between 1 February 2022 and 31 December 2022. The overall objective of the project, which was implemented by the Human Rights Law Research Center of Istanbul Bilgi University, was to raise awareness and strengthen the capacity of lawyers on international standards of women’s human rights, gender equality, violence against women,, international monitoring mechanisms, individual complaints procedures, and the interpretation and implementation of CEDAW.
In order to achieve the aim of the project, this book, which deals with various aspects of CEDAW, was prepared with contributions from prominent experts in the field.
